The NZBCSD is an incorporated society made up of more than 50 member businesses. Participation in the NZBCSD is by the chief executive officers of member businesses (or other top-level executives of equivalent rank).
The NZBCSD is governed by an Executive Committee comprising an elected Chairperson and committee members. The full membership of the Council is involved in deciding the
NZBCSD's priorities and work programme, and appointing the Executive Committee.
The work programme comprises NZBCSD projects, of broad relevance to all members, and member-led projects relevant to a sub-set of members. Council projects are funded from general membership fees. Member-led projects are
funded by contribution from participating companies. All projects seeking NZBCSD endorsement are subject to quality assurance processes.
Members appoint Liaison Delegates to represent their companies. Liaison Delegates contribute time and expertise to projects. They also disseminate knowledge and learning from projects back into their own companies. Members
may also make voluntary contributions of financial, human or other resources to the general operation of the Council.
Bob Field, Chairman of Toyota NZ Limited, currently chairs NZBCSD. Mark Drury, Chief Executive of URS New Zealand Limited, is Deputy Chair (large enterprises), and Steve Bonnici, Managing Director, Urgent Couriers Limited,
is Deputy Chair (SMEs).
The responsibility for the day-to-day management of the NZBCSD lies with the Chief Executive and the executive team. The executive team co-ordinates the work of the Council, administers the budgets and undertakes appropriate
external representation.
The executive team is Peter Neilson (Chief Executive), Graeme Colman (Communications Manager), Heather Stonyer
(Project Manger), and Alex Eleftheriadis (Office Manager & PA to CEO). The Chief Executive reports to the Chairman and Executive Committee.
